Existing Facilities
- Two intersecting private gravel roads through the site
- An old railroad boxcar used as a bridge over the river on the east-west road
Proposed Facilities
- Campground for up to 28 RVs (short term) with electric & water hookups
- Separate camping areas for a group of 10 tents and & an area for 9 individual tent sites
- A unique camping experience
- Space for additional campground expansion
- Canoe/kayak launch & trailhead for the Ottertail River State Water Trail
- North Country Scenic Trail (about 1 mile through park)
- Heartland State Trail spur (about ¼ mile through park & ¼ mile along City streets to the State Trail)
- Interpretive Center/Campground Office/Trailhead building with information and exhibits
- Wayside interpretive signs along trails
- A 3 mile, ADA accessible, hard surface trail loop
- An additional 2 miles of natural surface trail loops with boardwalk sections & overlooks
- Shoreline fishing areas
- Retention & restoration of the iconic, existing railroad boxcar bridge
- 2 large and 2 small picnic shelters and moveable picnic tables
- An outdoor amphitheater on a natural hillside
- Internal park roads, parking areas, restrooms, utilities, & sewage pump out station
